The Danish racing team focused on talent development is ready for the second round of the Nordic 4 Championship, which will take place at FDM Jyllandsringen this coming weekend.
After a strong debut weekend two weeks ago, expectations are high for this weekend’s races. The development must continue so that the drivers are well-prepared for the remainder of the season:
-I wouldn’t say I was surprised by the results at Padborg Park, as we’ve been working hard to get here, but we had a really strong foundation for the season, and all the drivers have been given homework for this weekend to continue their learning, says team manager Morten Dons. However, he will only have three drivers to develop this weekend, as British Emily Cotty has not yet received her racing license and will have to sit out another race.
In any case, there is plenty of potential in the three drivers ready for FDM Jyllandsringen. Mathias Bjerre Jakobsen was fastest in qualifying and won the first heat of the year, while victory in the third heat was lost due to a technical error. Now, he is eager for revenge, and Jyllandsringen is one of his favorite tracks.
For Lærke Rønn Sørensen, it’s also about moving forward. The calm West Jutlander took an impressive second place in one of the heats at Padborg Park—after making a great start and leading for half the race. She also aims to be at the front of the pack.
Sebastian Bach, who made his Nordic 4 debut two weeks ago, showed great development throughout his debut weekend and left the track leading the Rookie Championship. If he continues to improve his driving technique and race craft, he will become a strong contender at the top of the field.
-We have a good team, both in and around the cars, and we demonstrated that at Padborg Park. Since then, we’ve had a couple of good training days at FDM Jyllandsringen, so we are definitely ready to continue working. I believe we are all looking forward to the rest of the season and seeing what we can achieve, says Morten Dons.
