14-year-old Emily Cotty to make racing debut in the Danish Formula Championship in 2024 with STEP Motorsport.
Emily Cotty has several seasons of experience in British karting, and as part of her preparations for international racing, she will join the Danish championship. This places her among the growing list of international names who use the Danish championship as a stepping stone to significant international success.
Before finalizing the agreement with STEP Motorsport, Emily had already familiarized herself with the car, the team, and one of the Danish tracks during a couple of test days. Therefore, team manager Morten Dons is confident that the collaboration will be a success:
-Emily is a focused and hardworking racer. She takes feedback well and learns quickly, and she integrated seamlessly into the team during the test days. She will definitely be an asset for us in 2024, and I look forward to helping her achieve her ambitious goals for the future.
The young Brit is also excited to participate in the Nordic 4 championship, which she views as a strong series to be a part of:
-I am super excited to race in Nordic 4 in 2024, and I look forward to learning as much as possible from Morten and the rest of the team in my debut season in a formula car. It’s a huge opportunity to become a better racer and work with one of the best teams in Denmark, says Emily.
The season in Nordic 4 begins at the end of April and spans seven race weekends, including two races in Sweden.
