STEP Motorsport is aiming for three cars in 2023

1. September 2022

A successful first season in Formula 4 has whetted the appetite. Next year, the plan is for STEP Motorsport to enter three cars in the Danish Formula 4 Championship.

Even though a third of the season remains, team principal Morten Dons is unafraid to call the debut season a success; with Julius Dinesen at the top of the standings and Victor T. Nielsen improving every time he gets in the car, both sporting and development goals are exactly where they should be:

-We are where I expected us to be. The team is functioning really well and provides the drivers with a solid foundation to learn as much as possible, and at the same time, our hospitality department has also provided guests with the right atmosphere needed for a race day. It’s a good level, and we will build on it, says Morten Dons.

Already at the Summer Race at FDM Jyllandsringen, the team had a third driver as part of its setup. Belgian Aurelia Nobels participated in a single round of the Danish championship, and for STEP Motorsport, it was also a test of whether the setup could accommodate an additional driver:

-Aurelia had a good weekend in Denmark and praised us for our work afterward. Bringing in a third driver is not a major challenge either logistically or sportingly, so of course, we need to make room for one more driver if there’s interest, says Morten Dons, who already has the first driver secured for the upcoming season—Victor T. Nielsen will have another season on Danish asphalt to gain even more experience before heading abroad.

Interested drivers are welcome to visit the team during the Night Race at Padborg Park or the DM Final at FDM Jyllandsringen to discuss the opportunities to become part of STEP Motorsport in 2023.
