Three championship leads at stake as STEP Motorsport returns for the night race at Padborg Park.
STEP Motorsport’s four drivers will be back in Denmark’s premier talent class, defending three championship leads at this year’s Night Race on Padborg Park. Mathias Bjerre Jakobsen seized the championship lead with an impressive hat-trick at the last round at Falkenberg Motorbana before the summer break. With only a nine-point gap to second place, the Copenhagen native has a clear mission: to keep pushing forward. The same holds for Sebastian Bach, who arrives at Padborg Park with a ten-point lead in the Rookie Championship. There’ll be no time to relax for the Aalborg driver in the competitive southern Jutland circuit. Lærke Rønn Sørensen is also back from the break, energized and ready. So far, the season hasn’t brought the results the West Jutland racer had hoped for, so she’s pulling out all the stops to secure two strong races as the season concludes.
For Gustaw Wisniewski, it’s all about getting back on track and continuing his upward trajectory since joining STEP Motorsport in the spring. With multiple podium finishes and a pole position in previous races, he’s ready to fight for results at Padborg Park, where the rest of the field already has experience from the season opener. The third championship lead to defend is in the team championship, where STEP Motorsport holds a solid first place. The team’s focus is entirely on providing the best possible support for the four drivers to ensure they’re fully prepared to perform.
-It’s been a long summer break, but several drivers are coming to Padborg Park full of energy and ready to go. I’m excited to continue their development at the Night Race, and I feel that all four are bringing even more fighting spirit than when we left Falkenberg, says Morten Dons, team manager at STEP Motorsport. Saturday’s Nordic 4 races will be broadcast live on the YouTube channel, Dansk Motorsport Live.
