The ability to adapt will be crucial this weekend

Julius Dinesen and Victor T. Nielsen can look forward to new challenges as they return to Padborg Park for this weekend’s Night Race.

As the name suggests, the final heat of the weekend will be held just before dusk at the Sønderjylland track. Although the track is by no means unfamiliar to the two young racing drivers, it will still present a new situation. In addition to the obvious lack of daylight, the weather can also play a role.

– There will definitely be a challenge with braking points that won’t look the same when the light fades from the track, and that’s something we can’t train for — so the final heat will require a certain adaptability from the drivers, says team manager Morten Dons, who is also checking the weather forecast at short intervals leading up to the weekend.

– We haven’t had a real rainy weekend yet, but especially Friday looks like it could be really wet. Without a lot of practice in rainy conditions, the boys should expect a steep learning curve to master the wet asphalt, but they will manage, says the team manager.

Heading into the weekend, Julius Dinesen leads the Formula 4 championship by 17 points over second place. With six heats left in the championship, there is no room for major missteps if he is to maintain the lead all the way to the final weekend.

Victor T. Nielsen has shown consistent development since the start of the season and achieved his best result so far at Ring Djursland. The North Jutland teenager is still awaiting his first heat victory, and if his upward trend continues this weekend, it could be within reach.
