The hunt for the challenging second starts at Padborg Park

24. April 2023

STEP Motorsport had a dream debut in the Formula 4 Championship last year, where both the Danish Championship and the Rookie title went to a STEP driver. Now, the good work must continue as the season starts next weekend.

This season, there is only a single car associated with the talent team. However, it is a familiar face who has chosen to continue where he left off last year. Victor T. Nielsen is ready for another season focused on development and learning.

-When you work with talents, you know that they are on loan; they need to move on to the next level and the next goal. Therefore, it’s nice for us that Victor has found a solution where he can continue his development here in Denmark while also starting his electric motorsport career abroad, says team manager Morten Dons, who does not rule out the possibility of adding an extra car to the team later in the season.

This weekend’s race at Padborg Park comes after a challenging season preparation, where technical problems have taken valuable time away from training. But both the team manager and the racer are ready to give it their all:

-We had laid out a very good test program to get off to a strong start to the season. Unfortunately, the technology tripped us up, but the team has worked tirelessly to solve the problems – I am incredibly grateful for that, and I will fight hard to bring home a top result this weekend as a thank you for their efforts, says the northern Jutland racer.

An old saying goes that a bad rehearsal makes for a good premiere. All sails are set to make this year’s first race weekend a success:

-We have spent a lot of effort going through the car to ensure everything works as it should, so now the focus is on giving Victor the best possible foundation to do his job behind the wheel. It’s the same driver and the same people in the team, so the plan is to continue where we left off – at the top, says Morten Dons about the weekend’s objectives.
