Leo Robinson and Oscar Wurz completed the penultimate race weekend of the year with impressive results and gained plenty of valuable experience with the Formula 4 cars.
Qualifying hinted that the two STEP drivers were on a strong path. Leo secured third place for the weekend’s first race, and with a third place and two second places, he was right at the top. Along the way, he demonstrated both composure and a hunger for overtaking, suggesting big results may be on the horizon for him.
The debuting Oscar Wurz also got off to a solid start in formula racing. He placed in the top third of the field in all three races and became increasingly comfortable in both the car and on the track over the course of the weekend.
As team manager, Night Race was one of the highlights of the 2023 season:
-It’s wonderful to see how both Leo and Oscar have progressed this weekend. Leo has built on the foundation we laid at Ring Djursland, and the way he keeps fighting throughout the entire race is inspiring to watch, says Morten Dons, who is also pleased with Oscar Wurz’s strong debut weekend:
-Oscar had an instructive debut weekend, where he even led in Race 2 and had plenty of intense battles with the more experienced drivers. There’s a big difference between karting and formula cars, and although he certainly wanted to be further up in the field, he has met all our expectations within the team, says Morten Dons.
Only two weeks remain before the 2023 season concludes at FDM Jyllandsringen.
