When the Formula 4 season resumes this coming weekend at Ring Djursland, it will feature Algerian driver Leo Robertson in the distinctive green racing suit.
The 14-year-old rookie has achieved a long list of international top placements as a karting driver. Last year, he secured the Italian OK Junior Championship, and earlier this year, he made history by becoming the youngest race winner ever in the Ginetta Junior Cup in Great Britain.
His debut in the Danish Formula 4 Championship will be the next step on a steep path toward professional motorsport, and team manager Morten Dons is excited to create the framework for his formula debut:
-Leo already has an impressive CV that underscores his potential. Now we have the opportunity to prepare him for larger formula classes over the next three race weekends, and I have high expectations for that, says Morten Dons, who has no doubt that the team’s new driver could be a thorn in the side of the established competitors in the class:
-The focus in the upcoming races is solely on developing Leo as a racing driver. If he continues at the pace he has already set, it wouldn’t surprise me if there are trophies to take home before the year is out.
This weekend’s race at Ring Djursland offers exceptionally good development opportunities, as, like last year, there will be an extra heat on the track.
