Interest in STEP Sports Management’s talent program in the Danish Endurance Championship is high
“It’s fantastic that the interest in our project is so significant that it makes sense to bring another car home. As it stands, the car will participate in selected DEC races as well as a number of test and track days this year, and next year, I’m convinced it will run a full season in DEC,” says Morten Dons, who recently announced the driver lineup for the team’s first Ginetta G40 GT5: Silas Rytter and the 2023 Karting Talent of the Year, Mads Riis.
“They are two really talented karting drivers who have chosen to invest in STEP and our talent program for their first season in motorsport. For us, it’s a huge vote of confidence that they have shown us, and I have no doubt that we will provide them with a significant boost for their future careers,” Morten Dons adds.
As part of STEP Motorsport’s DEC initiative, the focus will not only be on completing fast laps on the racetrack. Throughout the season, drivers will also be trained and educated in the crucial skills that racing drivers need to master: physical training, sponsor acquisition, and media relations.
The acquisition of another Ginetta G40 GT5 also means that there will be increased opportunities throughout 2021 to get hands-on experience with the car and learn more about STEP Sports Management’s talent program.
