This season will be different for Roskilde driver Lukas Petersen. While the focus in recent seasons has been on karting, the focus now shifts towards making a good transition to circuit racing. Therefore, Lukas has now become part of STEP Academy, where he will receive knowledge, inspiration, and concrete career advice.
“This year I will take the step from karting to car racing, and I know it will be a challenge. Throughout the year, I will go out and test the team’s Ginetta G40 GT5 two to three times and participate in one or two races in the Danish Endurance Championship,” says Lukas Petersen, who is also leveraging STEP Sports Management’s expertise in sponsorship seeking and PR.
Switching from a go-kart to a more advanced racing car can be a big leap. With the right knowledge behind him, the task becomes more manageable, and Lukas is already looking forward to getting started with the preparations:
“I think the Ginetta is really cool, and at the same time, we are not alone in the whole challenge of finding sponsors. With STEP Sports Management and Morten, I get guidance and help with sponsorship seeking and a really good start in circuit racing,” he explains.
For STEP Sports Management, it is nice to see another young racing driver who wants to give himself the best start to his motorsport career:
“I am glad that Lukas has chosen STEP as his path into circuit racing. He has consciously chosen to focus this season on learning a lot, both behind the wheel and about everything off the track, and I am convinced that together we will create a solid foundation for his future career,” says Morten Dons, founder of STEP Sports Management.
This past weekend, Lukas Petersen participated in the first of this year’s three joint training sessions in STEP Academy. Here, he met other racing drivers and received new input on sponsorship work, social media, and physical training:
“It has been really great to meet the others and be challenged a bit, and it’s just really good to get started. I look forward to working more with STEP!” concludes Lukas Petersen.
According to plans, Lukas will make his circuit racing debut with his first test in the car during May, and participation in races is scheduled for after the summer holidays in one of STEP Sports Management’s Ginetta G40 GT5s.
