Technical turns await Dinesen and Nielsen at Sturup Raceway

8. June 2022

The second round of the Formula 4 championship awaits. Julius Dinesen and Victor T. Nielsen are ready for yet another new track.

Sturup Raceway is a direct contrast to the flat and fast Padborg Park, and with its many technical turns and elevation changes, it will be a challenge to overtake on the Skåne track:

-It’s a great track, but it’s difficult. There aren’t many places to overtake, so I think we will see a close qualification — that’s where you can gain a good position, says team manager Morten Dons, who raced on the track early in his career.

-Fortunately, we have tested on the track and will have another test day on Friday before the weekend, so I’m sure both Julius and Victor will be fit for the fight on Saturday morning, says Dons.

After a strong start to the season for both drivers, one might quickly assume that ambitions and expectations are growing rapidly. However, that is not the case, assures the team manager:

-They both did really well at Padborg Park, but the focus is still on learning rather than just winning. They have a craft to master, and for them to do that, it’s important not to think too much about first places and such. If the effort results in trophies, that’s a sign they’re getting better and gaining more experience, but this early in the season, trophies are not the main goal.

The two drivers have a full test day on Friday before the race weekend truly begins on Saturday morning.
